I could try to blog, write or talk all my life, and I would never come up with something remotely as funny. Or Scary. http://www.theatlantic.com/doc/200811/airport-security/1 Pretty much exactly 5 months after my meniscus surgery, I am back running. It is hard to feel the heart racing, the muscles aching, out of shape, out of breath, after a round in the park, after, what a year a go would barely have been a recovery run. Yes, consciously I know that I’ll be back in shape within a couple of weeks; still, it sucks. On the other hand, today I finished (with a lot of walking breaks and in a terrible time, but I finished) by first half-marathon. Not an official event, just running the distance, but that is all that matters for the moments. I’m back. Ironman UK is on Sept. 7. I wish you all a [put in your favorite adjective here] new year. ![]() Doesn't look good Well, it looks like there is a price to pay for the racing season. I tore the meniscus in my right knee. Actually, I tore both the inner and outer front menisci (?!) 8 weeks of physical therapy, ultra sound and stretching, and a 50/50 chance that I thereby avoid having surgery in January. Wish me luck! ![]() World Record #25 or so Event Stats: ![]() Jog and Rock Event Stats: ![]() Timberline Lodge Event Stats: ![]() Hardly open water Event Stats: ![]() The rim Name Crater Lake Rim Run Date 08/11/2007 Location Crater Lake, OR, USA Event Marathon Finish Time 04:58:53
