The one thing I associate with Coeur D’Alene is the video footage from the Ironman race there –great scenery,pretty flat landscape and a ton of spectators.
Seems the spectators only come for the Ironman,the town was totally deserted.
The marathon,in it’s 30th (?) year,is a two loop course,partly on an asphalt trail,partly on the side of a road. It features some scenery,but mainly a huge hill,both up and down,with you have to run twice. In short,it pretty much sucked.
At least I got a photo out of it with me smiling when crossing the finish line.
